NXT GEN: Emerging Choreographer Program
Building the next generation of choreographers, one move at a time. ​

Our 6-month program runs from March-August 2024.
Weekly sessions include industry panels, seminars, workshops, studio sessions and 1:1 coaching.
Program Pillars
Dance Education and Leadership
Choreographing for stage and presenting live performance work
Artists will develop a concept from idea to stage and present works at MOVMNT Showcase on July 19-21. Curriculum includes production training and project management.
In partnership with Palms & Pines, artists will learn how to bring their ideas to life on camera and produce a video project of their choosing from pre-production to post-production.
Artists will hone their skills as choreographers and directors by finding their artistic voice, harnessing creativity and effectively communicating their vision.
Fundamentals of Choreographing and Creative Directing
Program explores concepts of leadership in dance spaces and classroom management. Artists will receive feedback on their teaching with outlined areas for improvement.
Choreographing and directing for Camera
Navigating The Business Of Dance
Program covers a variety of administrative, budgetary, marketing and entrepreneurial fundamentals.
